Incineration is an exhilarating story about a post-outbreak, future society. Running
water and electricity are a thing of the past. The streets of New York are
lined with deteriorating cars and the bones of bodies long decayed. The main
character, Phee, was just ten when everyone died. The handful of survivors left,
are completely altered by the Avian Rodentia virus, leaving behind an unhinged
and violent society. Now twenty, Phee herself has been scarred, unable to
handle any touch from another human save Hudson, a six-year-old she has mostly
raised since he was a baby. Tired of barely living life and succumbing to
invasive assaults, Phee leaves the mild safety of her group in search of a
better life, and a better life for Hudson, whom she leaves behind.
In
her pursuit, death nearly finds her before she encounters a group of men she
isn’t sure she can trust. From that moment on, everything Phee felt to be true
has been proven wrong. Her parents’ disappearance and the unpopulated world are
not as simple as she once thought. She finds something worth fighting for, and
sacrifices her safety time and again to protect it.
With
everything she knows being turned upside down, can this wounded young woman
with fire in her blood open her heart to a different kind of life with people
worth loving?
I would love to read this series, but I am taking the time to tell you why I won't be as you are very possibly losing possible readers who won't bother coming to your website to tell you the issues they have. I would have emailed if there had been any contact info here.
ReplyDeleteOkay, The first book is Kindle Unlimited (KU) and the next book isn't. I consider that a bait and switch technique, which is an unpleasant surprise to KU readers. Either put all of a series in KU or none of them. I subscribe KU because it keeps me on a budget. I know every month what I am spending on books. I almost never buy books outside of KU. And I definitely wouldn't for something like this. Now, I may discover an author I love and read a series in KU by them and then they release a new series and choose not to KU it. If they are good enough, I will read them and buy their books. If I had read the first book under KU, then the next was released without KU, I would be madder than a hornet and never read another thing by the author. This is one reason that I never read a series until it is completed, which brings me to the second issue. If the series is completed, you should indicate so in the description. With so many series being released every single day, I just can't keep up with them, so I only read them when completed and I don't know they are completed unless the description tells me so. The reviews seem to indicate that this may be a completed series and I was about to grab the first book, when I noticed the second wasn't on KU. So, right here are two huge reasons you are most likely bleeding readership. They are both easily fixed and could make a huge difference in your income.
Despite my complaints, I really would have loved reading your books because they look wonderful and the reviews were really good. If you decide to put the second on KU and the series is completed, let me know and I will read them.
Thank you so much for commenting. To be honest, I had both books signed up for KU, so it's a surprise to me that it's not currently enrolled in it. Amazon has a setting that will re-enroll your books every few months into Kindle Unlimited, but for some reason, Burning Ascension didn't re-enroll.
DeleteAgain, thank you so much for bringing it to my attention. I had a set-it-and-forget-it kind of mentality with these books, and I'm not certain I would have caught on to the mistake. I really appreciate it.
I just adjusted my settings and enrolled in the Kindle Select program again which allows it to be available on KU. I hope you have the chance to check them out.
